No Expectations.
The quote “too many disappointments, too many fucking expectations!” struck a nerve the first time I encountered it. It felt uncomfortably real. Over time, it’s become a reminder of the harm expectations can inflict on us.
The expected lifespan of a Latin male in the U.S. generally falls somewhere between the late 70s and early 80s. That puts me about ten years past my midlife.
The plan is simple: make more art.
I am feeling good about 2026, (U.S. invasions aside) I’m moving forward with zero expectations. And it feels good.
Putting self judgement aside because there is no time for it. And finding joy in the mundane.
Because? Why not!
