Art for Chico Stix
It all started with skateboarding, a way of seeing, a life built around creative instinct.
Making collages is physical. It’s deliberate. There is no mercy in it, only scissors, X-Acto knives, instinct, and intention. You build from fragments into something new.
Skateboarding feels the same way to me, a lifelong adventure built from nothing, nurtured through trial and error.
Chico Brenes is a legend.
His influence spans decades and crosses borders; skaters from San Francisco to São Paulo to Tokyo know his name, his style, and his contributions to skateboarding and its culture.
Calling him a friend is something I’m genuinely proud of.
A skateboard deck is not for the wall. (Though I don’t mind if you hang mine up.) It needs to be used and abused through streets and spots, accumulating the scars of a life actually lived. I love that my art gets to go on that journey.
Working with Chico Stix on this latest set of decks feels like coming home.
